I just got back from a nice long walk outside. It’s sixty-something degrees and sunny, which we don’t take for granted in Minnesota in March. The forecast is for more snow later this week.

My first Zendoodle

I’ve got the UCLA/Duke game on TV. Duke knocked off my LSU tigers on Friday night, thoroughly busting my bracket. After tomorrow we’ll be down to the Final Four. UCONN and South Carolina both look unstoppable.

I took a Zentangle class this week, part of the Creative Mornings Field Trip series. Zendoodling/Zentangling hit my algorithm a few months ago, and I suppose this was inevitable. I enjoyed it. It felt the same to my brain as putting together a jigsaw puzzle. A sort of soft focus on something easy and repetitive that quiets the rest of the noise in my head.

I dabbled in the AT Proto docs this week, and at least read through all of the tutorials. AtmosphereConf is taking place this weekend in Vancouver. My Bluesky feed has already been abuzz about the great talks. I’m looking forward to watching the recordings once they post them. I’m especially interested in in Erin Kissane’s talk on “revitalizing our info ecosystems”

The Peloton streak continues—I’m up to 86 days. I originally set out to do the 100-day challenge, but I think I’ll keep this going as long as I can. I like the mix of biking, stretching, and mediation I’ve been doing. I would love to work in more strength training, but I’m going to stay focused on flexibility a bit longer. I have a hard time getting in to proper form for things like a dead lift because of how inflexible I am. I was a little lax on bike rides this week, only getting two in. I skipped one when it was another sunny day and took a long walk instead, and then forgot to make it up the next day.

A few weeks ago I saw a dermatologist about a benign growth on my temple. She treated it with cryotherapy, essentially blasting it with liquid nitrogen. The growth blackened and hardened, and earlier this week I woke up and found what was left of it on my pillow. Kind of gross, kind of cool. I’m in a little disbelief that it worked. I’m getting my haircut on Tuesday so I’ll really be able to see if it’s gone. One of the reasons I had it removed was because sometimes my barber would nick it with his clippers.

Things I enjoyed this week
