I’m actually writing this one on a Sunday. It’s amazing what having an extra day off can do. Juneteenth was observed here on Friday, so I had the day off.

We went to the final Aurora home game of the season. They’ve got two more road games to go, but have already clinched the division. It was a beautiful day and one of the few we didn’t leave early due to rain or excessive heat.

I managed three Peloton rides this week though not on the days I had planned. I skipped Thursday evening’s ride and rode Friday morning instead (again, the beauty of an extra day off). I just finished my third ride of the week about an hour ago. I did a Tabata ride—which was intense— a Power Zone Ride and a Power Zone endurance ride. I like the HIIT and Tabata rides so I’ll try to do one of those each week. At some point I need to retake my FTP test and see if my Power Zones have changed at all.

The Great Comic Book Read Down continued this week. I’ve now read most of my Marvel Ultimate Universe backlog, with four issues remaining. After that I think I just have five or six issues of FML to read, and then I’ll be caught up. Ideally when my next batch of comics arrives in the mail I’ll read and file them away within the week or at least by the time the next batch arrives.

I’m sitting here typing with my feet on the coffee table next to another stack of unread periodicals. I’ve got three back issues of the lovely Orion magazine to read that are about a year old, and under those a stack of The New York Review of Books that’s probably two to three years old at this point. Maybe once I’m done with the comics I’ll make those my mission.

I thought for sure with the extra day off I’d get some board gaming in but I didn’t. I’m not sure what’s going on there. I’m feeling the friction of getting one to the table more than ever. I feel like making a goal to play them somehow makes me want to play them less. It doesn’t make any sense; I’m not the self-sabotaging type. If I don’t do something soon though I’m going to fail my 4x10 challenge spectacularly.

No AT Proto work this week either. The work I started is still sitting in its own branch, ignored for now.
